It is October and a LOT is going on. It is National Physical Therapy Month!! A month to honor our profession and promote what we can do for YOU. A month to reflect on what made us pursue the physical therapy career and what continues to motivate us in that career.
We also are celebrating the success of our Inaugural “Event” on Balance that we shared with the Greater Harrison Community last week. We had several people attend the Event to learn for themselves, for their loved ones and some just for general information that they will store for future use. We appreciate those who made the Event possible, my staff and supportive community, and want to insure you that we will be doing this theme again. In fact, we have established an “Event Series” in which we will be offering several themes to the public, teaching more about particular maladies and conditions of interest as well as how Physical Therapy can benefit you as you encounter this particular condition. Some themes will focus on Back Pain, Neck Pain, Posturing, Knee Pain, Body Mechanics and more. We are excited to share this information with you.
And, also I ask your prayers for all of our clients as they embrace their crosses and work through their pain and recovery in our clinic. I ask specifically for prayers for my wife, Janet, who fell down a couple of steps two days ago and broke one foot in 4 places and severely sprained the other one. She is a two booted woman on cruthes right now, a tough place for a mother to be.
As we move into October and the leaves begin to change, think about how your colors are. Are they vibrant and visible to the world. Are you changing and transforming into the person God has intended you to be. So what about you? Will you accept this “Fall” as a time of invitation to transformation? Will you “Fall” to your old , dead ways and embrace the invitaion to die and become beautiful and vibrant in the newness God desires for you?
As we celebrate National Physical Therapy month, let us celebrate not only in the physical transformation God has willed for you and that we assist with in rehabilitation, but let us more thankfully rejoice in the multitude of blessings and the transformations God is inviting you to on all levels. He beckons us to Him, and as St. Augustine said, “our hearts will not rest until they rest in You, O Lord”. Let us stop fighting His love and care and decide this “Fall” to “fall” into His arms and comfort.
Oh Jesus, transform us. Allow us to show Your vibrant colors through us as we change and transform according to your plan!!!
I will pray thank we all may accept the transformation God intends so we can be the fullest being He desires us to be in His world.
