“The pain was so bad that I couldn’t work for seven months,” said Mike. “Some days I wasn’t even able to put on my socks. Tim (Lees) researched my job and tailored a reconditioning program specific to my needs.” In particular, the program focused on core strengthening, simulating the twisting and lifting movements that firefighters do on a daily basis. The four-week program had Mike working out two hours a day, five days a week.
Now back at work, Mike is feeling good and committed to taking better care of himself. “Tim challenged me on a daily basis,” said Mike. “Best of all, his encouragement and support prompted me to make other healthy life style changes as well. I’m eating healthier and have lost weight. I’m also continuing to exercise and strengthen my body. This is the best I’ve felt in years.”
